Celebrating Success

Prize Presentation Evening 2023

On Thursday 12th October 2023, we hosted our annual Prize Presentation Evening at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. This is an evening dedicated to recognising our pupils for their hard work and awarding them for their amazing achievements. Guests received a warm welcome into the hall as pupils from all year groups took part in a mix of musical MiSST performances and vocal solos, showcasing their remarkable talent. An incredible on-stage performance from Year 8 and 9 pupils in the Djembe Drumming Tribe captured the attention of everyone, just before the Principal's Address. Mr Giles, Principal highlighted the value of education and thanked pupils for their outstanding work, attendance and excellence over the last year. Over 200 pupils walked across the stage and were awarded for their hard work and dedication. There was lots to celebrate, from subject awards, to extra-curricular awards and special awards. Pupils currently in Year 8 to Year 11 and the leavers of 2023 (current year 12) attended the ceremony to celebrate their success with their families, peers and teachers. Mark Illis, a novelist and TV writer, our special guest for the evening, gave an inspiring speech about his journey as an author and concluded the evening with a book signing of his novel, ‘The Impossible’, which was awarded to pupils as a prize.
