What is Catch-up Premium?

The Government has made a commitment to provide additional funding to schools for each year 7 pupil who did not achieve at least the scaled score of 100 in the Key Stage 2 national curriculum tests in reading and/or mathematics. The purpose of this funding is to enable schools to deliver additional support, such as individual tuition or intensive support in small groups, for those pupils that most need it.

In 2016/17 the college received £23,500 to support 78 English students and 61 Mathematics students who at the end of Key Stage 2 were not secondary ready following their KS2 SATs.

In 2017/18 the college has received £23,500 to support the Catch-up Programmes. The priority groups in our Foundation Learning Tier will follow the successful model for 2017/18 however an additional group has been formed with additional provision ensuring there will also be a Learning Support Assistant providing support.
